What it’s like

Indoor go-karting on a 500m multi-level track for kids 8 and up, with a Mini Racers option for younger ones.

The main event is a 500 metre multi-level indoor circuit, and it's proper karting, not a glorified dodgem track. To race the child karts you need to be 8, at least 1.2m tall and have a 25 inch inside leg, so it's worth measuring your kid at home before you promise them a race day out. Under that, there's a Mini Racers experience pitched at 4 to 7 year olds, which keeps the younger siblings from just standing at the barrier looking gutted.

Booking has to be done in advance and they take full payment upfront to hold your slot, which stings a bit if plans change since it's non-refundable unless you've paid extra for their flexi option. Spectating is free though, so grandparents or younger kids who can't race yet can still watch from the bar area and cheer.

There's no bringing your own snacks in, food and drinks are sold on site only, and everything runs on card, no cash accepted anywhere. The bar does smoothies, milkshakes and hot drinks alongside the usual fuel-stop food, and there's a proper bar with alcohol too if the adults fancy a pint while the kids queue for their next race. Parking's free round the back of the building, which is one less thing to budget for on top of the session cost.

Wheelchair access is only partial. There's a ground-floor spectator spot with views of the track and pit-lane, but the bar itself isn't accessible.
