What it’s like
An adults-only pottery studio in Leeds, so this one's for a grown-up outing rather than a kids' day out.
Worth flagging straight away: this is not a venue for children. Sunken Studio is an 18-plus pottery space, running adult courses, classes and a membership programme where you can turn up and make things independently once you're signed up. There's also corporate and group workshop bookings for 8 or more people.
So if you were hoping for a wheel-throwing session with the kids on a rainy Saturday, this isn't the place. It's built for adults wanting to learn a genuinely fiddly skill properly, or for a group of mates or colleagues booking a workshop together. Group sessions start from £35 a head, which feels about right for a proper hands-on class rather than a quick paint-a-pot.
Opening hours are generous on weekdays, 10am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, dropping to 10am till 5pm at weekends. That evening slot is worth knowing about if you're trying to get a couple of hours to yourself after the school run's done and the kids are with someone else.
Parking's a bit of a faff, by their own admission. There's Leeds Dock Car Park about a 9 minute walk away, or a couple of options nearer via JustPark, but nothing right on the doorstep. If you're coming by train, Leeds station is within walking distance, so that's probably the easier route in.

Plan your visit
Can we bring the kids?
No, it's an 18-plus studio, so there's no option for children's sessions or family visits.
Do they do children's birthday parties?
They don't accommodate children's parties at all. Group bookings are available for 8 or more people, from £35 per person, but that's for adults.
What are the opening hours?
10am to 9pm Monday to Thursday, and 10am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
Is there parking nearby?
Nothing right outside. Leeds Dock Car Park is about a 9 minute walk, with a couple of closer options bookable through JustPark near Crown Point or Sheaf Street.
