What it’s like
A local theatre with a Main Stage and an intimate Studio, plus a Monday two-for-one deal worth grabbing.
This is a proper theatre rather than a soft play or a farm, so the appeal here is different: Main Stage shows in one space, and a smaller Studio production running alongside with unreserved seating that changes shape for every play. If your kids are old enough to sit still for a show, this is about atmosphere and story rather than climbing frames or animals.
Prices depend on which space and which night. Main Stage is £14 for an adult, dropping to £12.50 concessionary but only Tuesday to Thursday. The Studio is a bit cheaper at £12, with concessions at £11, again Monday to Thursday only. Monday's the day to book if you can, because the Main Stage runs a two-for-one deal, two seats for £14, which is the best value on offer here by a distance.
Youth Theatre shows are free for under 10s, which is worth knowing if you've got a young one keen on performing rather than just watching. Booking online or by phone stops at 6pm, though you can still buy at the box office on the night between 6:45 and 7:45pm if you're organising things last minute.
One genuine catch for families with buggies or anyone who struggles with stairs: all three performance spaces are up flights of stairs, with no lift. There's a hearing loop fitted in the Main Stage, and two disabled parking spaces on the street outside, but the stairs-only access is the main thing to plan around before you pick your seats.

How much are tickets?
Main Stage is £14 for an adult, £12.50 concessionary on Tuesday to Thursday. The Studio is £12, or £11 concessionary Monday to Thursday.
Is there a cheaper way to see a show?
Monday's your best bet, two Main Stage seats for £14 under the two-for-one offer.
Do we need to book ahead?
Online and phone bookings close at 6pm, but you can buy in person at the box office from 6:45 to 7:45pm on the night.
Is it free for children?
Under 10s go free for Youth Theatre shows. Other productions follow the standard ticket prices.
Is there step-free access?
No, all three performance spaces are reached by stairs only and there's no lift. Worth bearing in mind with a buggy or if stairs are tricky.
Is there parking nearby?
There's parking available including two disabled bays on the street outside. The car park isn't set up for large coaches, so that's one for minibuses and cars rather than a big group coach trip.
