What it’s like

Sessioned skate, BMX and scooter time on ramps and rails, with marshals on duty and spectators let in free.

This is a proper skatepark, not a soft-play with wheels bolted on: ramps, rails and a bowl set up for skateboards, BMX bikes and scooters, split into timed sessions so the park doesn't get rammed with mixed abilities all at once. Trained marshals are on duty whenever it's open, which matters if you've got a newer rider who needs a bit of space from the ones doing the big tricks.

Sessions run in two or three hour blocks depending on the day, and the last hour of any session drops to £4, which is a decent trick if you just want a shorter go without paying full whack. Weekday sessions cost £6 to £8 depending on age, weekends nudge up to £10 for adults, and under-12s have their own "Mini Wheelers" rate at £6. Spectators, including parents who just want to watch from the stand, get in free, and children under 8 need a responsible adult with them the whole time.

There's a gift shop and toilets on site, and pay and display parking around the park if you're driving. The café normally does hot and cold drinks and snacks, though at the time of writing it's shut while they change operators, so don't plan the visit around a coffee just yet. One thing to flag: there is not currently a fully wheelchair-accessible toilet, which is worth knowing before you commit to a long session.

Birthday parties and group bookings are on offer too, with the café able to supply party food once that's back up and running. Loyalty cards are in play as well: six stamps and the seventh session is free, so it's worth asking about one if you think you'll be back.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

Weekday sessions are £6 for kids and £8 for adults, weekend adult sessions go up to £10. Under-12s have a Mini Wheelers rate of £6, and the last hour of any session is just £4.

Do we need to book?

There's no booking link listed, so it sounds like sessions run on a turn-up basis within the timed slots.

Is it supervised?

Trained marshals are on duty as paid staff every time the park is open, keeping an eye on safety.

Can I just watch?

Spectators get in free and can sit in the stand, use the seating areas or visit the shop. Children under 8 still need a responsible adult with them even if they're only watching.

What about food?

There's normally an on-site café for drinks and snacks, but it is currently closed while they change operators.

Is there parking?

Yes, pay and display parking is available around the skatepark.

Can we book a birthday party?

Birthday parties and group bookings are available and the café can supply party food once it's running again, so it's a case of contacting them for an information pack.

Is there an accessible toilet?

Not currently. The park doesn't have a fully wheelchair-accessible toilet on site.
