What it’s like

Structured skate lessons for everyone from wobbly toddlers to teens chasing tricks, booked in advance rather than turned up to.

This is a lesson-led skate club rather than a turn-up-and-hire rink, and that changes how you plan the visit. The youngest group, Micro Shredders, is for under 5s, then there are lessons for 5 to 11 year olds, advanced sessions for 8 to 16 year olds, and general skate sessions open to ages 5 and up including adults. There's also a Short Breaks assisted group session for 5 to 17 year olds, which is worth knowing about if your child needs extra support to join in.

A standard lesson is £7.50, but block booking is where the sense is: four lessons for £25 saves a fiver on the standard price, and eight for £45 knocks off £12. If your child takes to it, the block booking is the obvious way to go rather than paying full price week after week.

Everything runs on booking, so this isn't one to decide on the morning of. Parties, private hire and one-to-one or small group coaching aren't booked the normal way either, you have to message them directly on Facebook or Instagram, or email, which is a bit more faff than clicking a button but straightforward enough once you know that's the drill.

Because it spans under 5s right up to adults, it works as something you could do alongside your child rather than just drop them off for, if the general sessions fit your age group too.
