What it’s like
Free 40-minute sing-along sessions for mums and carers with babies and young children, held at four different Plymouth-area venues each week.
Singing, mostly. You turn up with your baby or toddler, sit in with a group of other mums and carers, and join in with songs for about 40 minutes. There's usually a scatter of instruments and toys for little hands to grab at, and if you catch the session at the Barne Barton Community Allotment, the kids get to explore outside while the grown-ups keep half an eye on them.
It runs on different days at different spots, which takes a bit of remembering. Monday at 10.30 is Moments with Mamma at Moments Café, Tuesday at 11.30 is at The Core in Saltash, Wednesday at 9.30 is Plymstock Library, and Thursday at 10.15 is 76, Tavistock. Worth picking one that's near enough to actually get to on the morning, since a 9.30 slot with a toddler in tow is its own kind of adventure.
The best bit is that it costs nothing. The whole thing is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund alongside government and local community trust money, so you're not being sold anything when you walk in, which makes it an easy one to try without committing to a term of anything.
Children are welcome generally, though it's worth knowing the Monday session is set up for babies and young children specifically, while there's a separate Friday session that's only for non-mobile babies if you've got a very small one and want a calmer room.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It's funded by the National Lottery Community Fund plus government and local trust money, so there's no charge to turn up.
Do we need to book?
There's no booking link listed, so it looks like you just turn up on the day.
How long does a session last?
About 40 minutes, which is a fair stretch for a young one but not so long it turns into a slog.
Where and when are the sessions?
Monday 10.30 at Moments Café, Tuesday 11.30 at The Core in Saltash, Wednesday 9.30 at Plymstock Library, Thursday 10.15 at 76, Tavistock. Each day is a different venue, so check which one you're heading to.
