What it’s like
Borrow board games, camping gear or a whole party kit instead of buying it, on an annual membership.
This isn't a library of books, it's a library of stuff. You join up, then borrow things you'd normally buy for one weekend and never use again: camping gear for that one trip, board games for a rainy Sunday, a full party kit when it's someone's fifth birthday and you don't fancy owning a bunting collection forever.
Membership is £50 a year standard, or £20 concession if the full price would be a stretch, and they say straight out that no proof is needed for that, you just choose it. The usual borrow period is a week, stretchable to two, and after your first visit you can add up to three other people to your account who are allowed to collect or return things on your behalf, useful if it's always one parent doing the school run and the other one free on a Tuesday afternoon.
The catch worth knowing about before you sign up is the late fee, £2 a day per item if something comes back past its date and you've not been in touch. It's not a huge sum but it adds up if you've borrowed three things for a party and forget to return them all promptly. Bring photo ID and something showing your current address on that first visit, after that they just need your name.
There's also a space you can hire out by the hour for £25, which is handy to know if a party kit needs somewhere to actually happen.

How much does membership cost?
£50 a year standard, or £20 concession if money's tight, no proof required for the concession rate.
