What it’s like

Themed walking tours around London, from Jack the Ripper to Harry Potter, led by a local guide in a small group.

This is a walking tour outfit, so the whole day out is your legs and a guide who knows the streets. They run small group walks on a set list of themes: Jack the Ripper, Ghost Tours, Harry Potter, Royal London, Agatha Christie, Brick Lane, and general sightseeing. Pick the theme that matches your kid's obsession of the month and you're set.

There's no set age range given, so it's on you to judge whether your seven-year-old can manage an hour or two of walking and listening rather than running about. The Harry Potter or sightseeing tours feel like the safer bet for younger ones; Jack the Ripper is presumably not one for a nervy six-year-old, given what it's about.

Opening hours are split into a morning and evening slot most days, 9:30am to 3pm and then 6pm to 9pm, with Tuesdays and Wednesdays running straight through from 8:30am to 7:30pm. That gap in the afternoon is worth noting if you were planning a late lunch tour, because there isn't one on offer most days.

Booking is done online and you can cancel free up to 24 hours before, which takes the pressure off if the weather turns or someone's poorly on the day. They also do private group bookings and school trips if you're organising for more than just your own crew.
