What it’s like
An indoor tropical waterpark with 18 slides, a big play structure and pools kept at 84 degrees, whatever's happening outside.
Eighteen water slides and attractions is the headline here, and the Caribbean Storm play structure is the bit smaller kids will drag you back to, again and again, before they're brave enough for the bigger slides. The pools are kept at 84 degrees, which matters more than you'd think when you've got a toddler in a swim nappy who can only handle five or ten minutes in the water before they're cold. Everything's indoors, so a grey Blackpool afternoon doesn't touch your plans.
You book a timed three-hour session in advance, and there are no walk-ins, full stop. That's a faff if you're the sort of family that decides on the day, but it does mean the place isn't rammed beyond capacity when you arrive. Advance online booking saves you £2 a head too: £16.50 for a 3-7 year old booked ahead against £18.50 on the day, and £25.50 for anyone 8 and up. Under 3s go in free, and there's a cheaper £15 Last Splash ticket for the final two hours if you're happy with a shorter splash.
Supervision ratios are tighter than you might expect: one adult per child aged 3 or under, one adult to two kids aged 4-7, and up to five confident 8-plus swimmers per adult. Non-swimmers need double chambered armbands, though rings and baby swim seats are fine for buoyancy. Worth knowing before you're stood at the poolside working out who's watching who, because some areas like Caribbean Storm and HMS Thundersplash aren't staffed by lifeguards and it's on you to keep count.
There's a café on site, lockers for your stuff, and proper accessibility thinking behind the scenes, water-accessible wheelchairs, hearing loops, a quiet first hour and occasional dedicated accessible sessions with reduced numbers. Big suitcases aren't allowed in though, so if you're arriving straight off a train with luggage, that's one to sort out first.

Do we need to book ahead?
Yes, every guest books a timed session online in advance. There's no walking in on the day, even if it looks quiet.
How long do we get?
Sessions run for three hours, with start times every 30 minutes from opening. There's also a cheaper Last Splash ticket for the final two hours of the day at £15.
Is it OK for a baby or toddler?
Under 3s go free and there's specific guidance on swimwear for under 5s, including neoprene wraps and float suits. Babies should only be in the water for five to ten minutes at first because of heat loss.
What are the supervision rules?
One adult per child aged 3 or under, one adult to two children aged 4-7, and up to five confident swimmers aged 8 or over per adult. Non-swimmers need double chambered armbands.
What can my child wear?
Swimming costumes, trunks, board shorts, tankinis, burkinis and hijabs are all fine. Underwear, transparent costumes, sportswear and anything with zips or studs isn't allowed in.
Is there food on site?

There's level or lift access throughout, water-accessible wheelchairs, and changing places facilities.
Are there quieter sessions for sensory needs?
The first hour of the day is a quiet hour, and there are occasional dedicated accessible sessions with reduced capacity, no music or announcements, and free companion entry for Access Card holders.
What's the temperature like inside?
The pools are kept at a tropical 84 degrees, so it's warm even for the littlest swimmers.
Can we bring suitcases or big luggage?
Large luggage and suitcases aren't permitted because of space restrictions inside.
Are lifeguards watching everywhere?
Some areas, including Caribbean Storm and HMS Thundersplash, aren't lifeguarded, so it's down to the accompanying adult to keep watch.
