What it’s like
Bowling, duck pin, batting cages and ice-free curling under one roof, with kids let in free until 5pm alongside an adult.
There's a proper list of things to try here rather than just lanes: ten pin bowling, duck pin bowling, batting cages, ice-free curling, tech darts, crazy pool, shuffleboard and karaoke, all under one roof on Union Street. A ten-year-old who fancies a go on the batting cage and then a round of tech darts can do both without leaving the building, and the Mix and Match deal (£18 for two activities, £24 for three, adult price) is the sensible way to try more than one thing without paying for each separately.
Under-18s are £6 a session against £12 for adults, which is fair, but the catch is timing: kids are only allowed in until 5pm and need an adult with them the whole time. That rules out an evening visit with the children in tow, so this is very much a daytime plan, best fitted in before teatime rather than as a Friday night out.
Food runs to American-style pizzas, burgers, wings and sides, so you can turn a couple of hours of bowling into a proper lunch stop without moving venues. Everything's card only, no cash, which catches some people out at the bar. Bowling shoes are provided if you don't fancy using your own, though your own shoes need to be flat-soled and non-marking, so leave the flip-flops at home.
Booking isn't required to get in, but they do recommend booking the gaming tables in advance if you want to guarantee a slot, especially on a Saturday when doors open earlier at 11am. Some activities are only reachable via steps, which is worth knowing if anyone in your group is using a wheelchair or has a buggy in tow.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£12 for adults and £6 for under-18s on most activities like bowling, darts and curling. The Mix and Match deal is £18 for two activities or £24 for three, at the adult rate.
Do we need to book?
Not strictly, walk-ins are allowed if there's space. Booking's recommended for the gaming tables though, especially at weekends.
Can kids come in the evening?
Under-18s are only allowed in until 5pm, and they need an adult with them the whole time.
Is it OK for younger kids?
Ages listed run right down to babies, though the activities themselves, bowling, batting cages, curling, suit school-age kids more than toddlers.
What food is there?
American-style pizzas, burgers, chicken wings and sides, plus cocktails, mocktails and draught beer and cider for the adults.
Can we pay by cash?
No, the bars are card only, so leave the coin purse at home.
What are the opening hours?
Monday to Wednesday it's midday to 11pm, Thursday to midnight, Friday to 12:30am, and Saturday from 11am to 12:30am.
Is there a dress code?
Sportswear including football shirts and tracksuit bottoms isn't allowed. Fancy dress is fine as long as it's tasteful.
Can we wear our own shoes for bowling?
As long as they're flat-soled and non-marking. Heels, flip-flops and open-toe shoes aren't permitted, but bowling shoes are available at the games desk.
Is the venue accessible?
There's an accessible toilet, though certain activities are only reachable via steps.
Can we book for a birthday party?
For group parties they ask you to get in touch directly to arrange food reservations, rather than just turning up.
Does the shuffleboard powder have nuts in it?
It contains a blend using walnut shell but not the walnut itself, so allergen risk is lower than the actual nut, but it's still worth flagging if anyone has a serious allergy.
