What it’s like
Weekly live-music sessions for babies and toddlers, with real instruments, singing and props across several South Cheshire venues.
This is a music class rather than a soft play or a farm visit, and that's exactly the point. A trained musician leads the group through live singing, action songs and sensory play, with real instruments handed round rather than a CD in the background. There's a good stretch of props and movement built in too, which is where the shier toddlers usually come out of their shell.
Classes are split by age and stage: Young Babies from birth, Babies from around 6 months, Toddlers from 13 months, and Pre-School from around 2.5 years. That's a sensible way to run it, since what works for a six-month-old flat on their back isn't what a confident three-year-old wants to be doing. Sessions run weekly at venues across Alsager, Sandbach, Nantwich and Ellesmere Port, so you can usually find one close enough to make part of the weekly routine rather than a special trip.
If you're not sure it's for you, most classes offer a taster session before you commit to a full term, which takes the pressure off booking blind. Birthday parties are also run by the same musical professionals, so if the class becomes a firm favourite there's an obvious way to mark a first or second birthday with the same songs and faces the kids already know.
