BUGGY FRIENDLY

Yes

What it’s like

Wide flat paths for bikes and scooters, a playground with swings and slides, and a play box of games in a Leeds park.

This is a proper bike and scooter park before it's anything else. The paths are wide and flat, so it's an easy place to let a wobbly seven-year-old on a new bike loose without much worry, and there's room for skateboards too if that's more your child's thing.

The playground covers the usual swings and slides, and there's a play box dotted about with games that pull parents in as well as kids, which is a nice touch if you fancy joining in rather than just supervising from a bench. Picnics are allowed and there's plenty of room to spread out.

Parking is free and on-street along The Rein, which is handy given there's no charge to weigh against it, though residential streets can fill up if you're not first there on a sunny weekend. If you're coming without a car, the 49 or 50 bus from Headrow gets you there, and it's about a 20 minute taxi ride outside rush hour. The whole park is pushchair and wheelchair friendly, and dogs are welcome too.
