What it’s like
Thirty one prison-themed cells to crack against the clock, plus axe throwing and a quiz arena, for six-year-olds up to adults.
You're locked in a cell with your team and a timer, and you've got two to five minutes to solve your way out before you move to the next one. There are 31 of these challenges dotted through the place, a mix of physical stuff like climbing and crawling and proper puzzle-solving, and you're up against a real-time leaderboard so you'll know exactly how you stack up against everyone else who's tried it that week. Save Axe Yard for when you need a change of pace, it's interactive axe-throwing with digital games rather than the puzzle-room format, and Quiz Boxing turns things into a TV-style quiz arena if your group's more brains than brawn.
An hour's the minimum session and honestly that feels tight once you've factored in the briefing, so the 90-minute option is what they recommend and it's probably right. Prices climb from £18 for a child's hour up to £37 for an adult's two hours, and there's a family pass of three for £55 on the hour-long session which softens the blow a bit. Booking online is the way to go since sessions are timed slots, not a turn-up-and-queue thing.
The cells themselves aren't for everyone. The Prison and Devils Island rooms are tight, cramped spaces that won't work if anyone in your group is claustrophobic, and The Tilt cell is one to skip if vertigo's an issue. Open-toed shoes and heels are out too, so trainers are the move. On the accessibility side, about 21 of the 31 challenges are wheelchair-friendly and 27 are playable from a chair, with reception, toilets and the café fully accessible.
There's a café on site doing hot and cold drinks, traybakes, Domino's pizza and something called Prison Patties, so you won't need to leave for lunch. Birthday parties for 9 to 15-year-olds get a private party room, pizza and drinks bundled in from £200. Parking's free, which takes the sting out of the ticket price a little.

How much does it cost?
It starts at £18 for a child's one-hour session, £23 for an adult. Longer sessions go up to £37 for an adult's two hours, and a family pass of three on the hour-long slot is £55.
Do we need to book?
Booking online is recommended since sessions run at fixed times rather than walk-in.
How long should we book for?
An hour's the minimum but 90 minutes is what they recommend, and given how many cells there are, the extra time is well spent.
What age is it suitable for?
Six years old up to adults, so it works for a family group as well as a stag or hen do.
Is it OK if someone's claustrophobic?
The Prison and Devils Island cells are tight, enclosed spaces that won't suit claustrophobia. The Tilt cell can also be an issue for anyone with vertigo.
Is there parking?
Free parking on site.
Can wheelchair users take part?
About 21 of the 31 challenges are accessible and 27 are playable from a wheelchair. Reception, toilets and the café are fully accessible throughout.
What's there to eat?
A café on site does hot and cold drinks, traybakes, Domino's pizza and Prison Patties.
Do you sell alcohol?
No alcohol on site, and players are expected to take part with a sound mind.
Can you book a birthday party?
There's a party package for ages 9 to 15 with an hour or 90 minutes of gameplay, a private party room, pizza, drinks and a gift for the birthday child, from £200.
What should we wear?
Trainers or closed-toe shoes. Open-toed shoes and heels aren't allowed given how physical some of the challenges get.
Can groups book something like a stag or hen do?
There's a stag, hen or sten package from £230 for groups of 10 or more.
