What it’s like
Canoeing on the Lagan, sea kayaking on Strangford Lough, outdoor laser tag and bushcraft, booked as a session for kids five and up.
This isn't a fixed site you turn up to, it's an outdoor activity outfit that runs sessions on the River Lagan, out on Strangford Lough, and at Shaw's Bridge. Kids get stuck into canoeing and kayaking, outdoor laser tag, archery, bushcraft and hut building, and there's a fire-building session with marshmallows toasted over it, which is the bit that'll get talked about on the way home.
The doggy paddle sessions are a nice quirk if your kids are the sort who'd rather paddle alongside a dog than compete for who catches the most fish. Sea kayaking on Strangford Lough feels like the one to save for when they've done a few sessions and are ready for open water rather than a calmer river.
Everything's built from age five up, and it works well as a birthday party format too, with canoeing, laser tag and assault courses on offer for the party crowd. Booking has to be done ahead, either online or by getting in touch to talk through what you want, and they'll ask for a 25% non-refundable deposit to lock in your slot, which is worth knowing before you commit to a date.
Catering can be arranged on top of your activity package, running from packed lunches to a hot or cold buffet, a BBQ, or even cooking outdoors on an open fire if you fancy going all in. They don't run transport themselves, so you'll need to sort getting everyone there and back.
