What it’s like
Bouldering and roped climbing for kids from age five, with day passes running from £3 to £16 and gear to hire if you turn up empty-handed.
Five is the minimum age they'll instruct, so this isn't one for toddlers, but from that point on there's bouldering and roped climbing to work through. The site is honest that it's less about brute strength than balance and a bit of flexibility, so a determined seven-year-old can hold their own against a much bigger climber on the easier angled routes.
Pricing is tiered by age, which is handy if you've got a mixed group. A junior day pass for a 4 to 10 year old is £9, youths 11 to 17 pay £12, and adults are £16, so a family of four could easily be north of £40 before you've hired a thing. Shoes are £3.75, a harness £3.50, and if you want the lot the gear package is £7.25, which works out cheaper than hiring each bit separately.
There's free on-site parking, changing rooms with showers, and an on-site café for afterwards, so you're not stuck buying a vending machine sandwich. Lockers need a £1 coin or your own padlock, and they sell padlocks at reception if you've forgotten. For instructed sessions they recommend booking ahead online, and worth knowing that deposits on those tend to be non-refundable if you cancel late.
If anyone in your group has additional needs, the site says to call or email ahead so they can sort it, which is a decent sign for a sport that can look more intimidating than it actually is.

How much does it cost?
A junior (4-10) day pass is £9, youth (11-17) is £12, and adults are £16. There's also a concession rate of £12.50 and an infant (0-3) pass at £3.
Is there a minimum age?
Five years old is the youngest they'll instruct. There's no upper age limit, so grandparents can climb too.
Do we need to book?
Instructed sessions are recommended to book in advance online. It sounds like independent climbing sessions are more flexible.
Is the equipment included?
Instructed sessions include the essential safety gear. Climbing independently, you'll need to hire shoes (£3.75), harness (£3.50) or the full gear package for £7.25.
Is there parking?
Free on-site parking, no need to hunt for a space nearby.
What if my child has additional needs?
They say climbing is inclusive and almost everyone can take part to some degree. Call or email ahead to let them know what you need.
Is there food on site?
There's an on-site café doing hot and cold drinks and snacks.
Can I get a refund if we can't make an instructed session?
Deposits or payment for instructed sessions are generally non-refundable and non-transferable if you cancel within their cut-off window. They'll try to accommodate changes with enough notice but can't guarantee it.
