What it’s like

Three tiers of play frame, from an enclosed baby area up to a big multi-level climb, with parking thrown in for free.

There are three separate zones here, which matters more than it sounds. The under-3s get a fully enclosed baby area away from bigger kids barrelling about, there's a toddler-sized frame for the in-between years, and then a large multi-level play frame for anyone who wants the proper climbing and sliding. With ages taken from birth to 12, most families should find something the right size.

Pricing is tiered by age and by day, which takes a minute to get your head round. Under 18 months it's £3 off-peak on weekdays or £4 at peak times, a child under 3 is £7.95 off-peak or £8.95 peak, and a child over 3 runs £9.95 off-peak or £10.95 peak. Extra adults are £2 each. Worth knowing that off-peak rates vanish on school holidays, in-service days, strikes and voting days, so the "off-peak" saving is really only a normal term-time weekday thing.

If you don't fancy cooking when you get home, the Play & Eat option bundles food in: £11.95 to £12.95 for under-3s depending on peak or off-peak, and £13.95 to £14.95 for over-3s. The café also does iced coffees and slushees for the grown-ups and older kids. Parking's free on site, which takes the edge off the entry prices a bit.

Birthday parties are handled properly here, with a soft play party from £275 for 15 children on peak school holiday dates, or exclusive hire from £450 for up to 20. The catch is a £50 deposit to reserve the date, and it's non-refundable, so you'll want to be fairly sure before you commit.

How much does it cost?

It depends on age and day. Under 18 months is £3 to £4, under 3s are £7.95 to £8.95, and over 3s are £9.95 to £10.95, with the higher price at peak times.

What counts as off-peak?

Monday to Friday, but only outside school holidays, in-service days, strikes and voting days. On those dates you pay the peak rate even midweek.

Can we get food while we're there?

There's a café doing iced coffees and slushees, or you can book the Play & Eat option which adds a meal to your entry ticket.

Is there anything for a baby?

Yes, a fully enclosed baby area separate from the bigger frames, plus a specific price band for under 18 months.

Is it suitable for older kids too?

Ages go up to 12, and the large multi-level play frame is built for the bigger climbers rather than toddlers.

Do we need to bring extra adults?

Additional adults are £2 each on top of the child's entry.

Is there parking?

Free onsite parking is included.

How do birthday parties work?

Soft play parties start from £275 for 15 children on peak dates, or you can book exclusive hire from £450 for up to 20. A £50 deposit secures the date and the balance is due 14 days before.

Is the deposit refundable if plans change?

The £50 party deposit is non-refundable.

Is the venue accessible for wheelchairs or buggies?

It's wheelchair accessible with an accessible toilet and baby change on site.
