What it’s like
A themed role play soft play where under-sevens run a tea room, a vet's surgery, a salon and a garden centre instead of just climbing a frame.
This one's built around pretend play rather than a big climbing frame. Kids move between named rooms doing proper jobs: serving cakes in Poppy's Tea Room, cutting hair in Sadie's Salon, treating patients at Country Vets, potting plants in Reggie's Garden Centre, or putting on a show in The Theatre. There's a Construction Site area too if hands-on building is more their thing, and a Village Green for whatever else takes over.
It suits the nought to seven bracket well, since that's who the rooms are pitched at, and younger ones who aren't into big slides and ball pits yet will probably get more out of a tea room than a soft play tower. Sessions are timed and you book ahead rather than turn up, which is a bit more planning than your average soft play but means you're not queueing at the door.
The café only serves before or after your play session, not during, so factor that into your timing if you want a coffee while the kids are busy. They suggest pre-ordering, which is worth doing if you don't want to be stood at the counter with a toddler pulling at your sleeve. Children can't be left unattended in the play area, so this isn't a drop-and-shop.
Birthday parties run on Saturdays and Sundays as exclusive hire, £16 a child for the 7 and under crowd, with fifteen to eighteen children fitting in. That covers two hours of hire, an hour and twenty minutes of actual play, and a picnic lunch, which takes the food faff out of party planning. The deposit is £100 and it's non-refundable, so it's worth being sure of your date before you pay it.
