What it’s like
Slides, climbing walls and go karts under one roof, with a separate toddler area for the under-threes.
There's an assault course, climbing walls and two big slides at 8ft and 10ft, plus rope swings and a disco dome for when the kids want to stop climbing and start dancing. The go karts are the bit an eight-year-old will bring up on the way home. Under-threes get their own dedicated toddler area, tucked away from the bigger kids barrelling round the obstacles.
Pricing is broken down by age rather than one flat fee. Under 6 months go free, 6 to 11 months is £2, and 12 to 35 months is £4.50. Older children from 3 to 11 need a call to the venue for pricing, which is a bit of a faff if you just want to check before you leave the house. If you're bringing a childminder or carer, a 2-hour play session is £4 for them.
The café does a proper menu rather than just crisps and juice, paninis, jacket potatoes, baguettes, breakfasts and daily specials, with a licensed bar too if the adults fancy a pint while the kids are on the ropes. There's an after school meal deal on weekdays in term time from 3:15pm for £9, which covers food and play in one go. Parking's free on site, which takes one thing off the list.
Birthday parties run from £11.95 a head for a package with food, drinks, a host and games, or you can hire the whole place privately for £349 for up to 30 kids, including a Sunday morning breakfast slot from 9 to 11am. Worth knowing that on some weekdays the centre can close at 5pm if there's a private party booked in, so a quick call ahead saves a wasted trip if you're planning a late afternoon session.
