What it’s like
You've got an hour (or 90 minutes) to solve puzzles, climb, crawl and slide your way out, no locked doors involved.
This is a proper escape room, not a soft play version of one. Groups of 2 to 8 get shut in (not literally, the doors aren't actually locked) with a set of puzzles to crack, and the physical side is real: ladders up to 2 metres, crawling through dark spaces, a slide. That's the bit a ten-year-old will be talking about on the way home, not just the final lock.
Under-16s need an adult in the group, one per group of them, and under-5s go free, though with climbing and crawling involved you'd want a confident 5-year-old rather than one who's easily spooked. There's audio and visual effects built into the games and the odd surprising moment, so it's worth knowing that going in if you've got a nervous child.
Games run 60, 75 or 90 minutes depending on which you book, but the whole visit takes up to 105 minutes once you count the 10 to 15 minute brief beforehand and the debrief and photos after. Prices work out cheaper per head the bigger your group: a 60-minute game is £27.50 a head for 4 to 6 players but jumps to £33 a head for just 2 to 3. It's card only, no cash, and parking's at Market Way Car Park nearby.
The booking terms are strict enough to mention: a 25% deposit secures your slot, there are no refunds once confirmed, and cancelling within 24 hours of your start time costs £40 to reschedule. Turn up more than 15 minutes late and you won't get in at all, refund or no refund, so build in time to find parking.
