What it’s like
A 45-minute skate session on a real ice rink, with weighted push-along aids for younger kids who need the wobble support.
Skating here is sold in 45-minute sessions that start on the hour, and they tell you to turn up a good 20 minutes early to get boots on and find your feet before the clock starts. That's a fair chunk of your session gone if you dawdle, so it's worth treating the arrival time as the real start.
Kids from age 3 can skate, and under-10s (under 110cm) can use the fiberglass weighted push-along aids to stay upright, which will save a lot of tears for a first-timer. The catch is there aren't many of these aids to go round. Helmets are available to hire too, which is a small reassurance given the rink is upfront about skating being at your own risk with no injury insurance.
A family of four comes to £50, or £13 a child and £15 an adult if you're buying separately, plus £5 if you need a skate aid. It isn't a cheap hour out, and the tickets are non-refundable. Weekday afternoons run from 3pm, while weekends open at 10am, giving you more room to fit a session round nap times or lunch.
Parking's at Westquay Shopping Centre itself, and Southampton Central station is close enough if you're coming by train. Group bookings are welcomed for parties, though you'd want to contact them directly to sort the rate rather than book online.

How much does it cost?
£13 for a child, £15 for an adult, or £50 for a family of four. Skate aid hire is £5 on top.
Do we need to book ahead?

Tickets are non-refundable, but you can gift them to someone else or reschedule if you give at least 7 days' notice.
