What it’s like
A high ropes and adventure centre near Wokingham where kids from 8 tackle 40ft towers, archery and mountain biking in timed sessions.
This is a proper outdoor challenge centre, not a soft play with a climbing wall bolted on. The main draw is the 40ft high ropes course with its wobbly bridge, cargo net and swinging platforms, plus the Leap of Faith, where you climb a 20ft wobbly pole and jump for a trapeze. There's abseiling down the climbing tower, bouldering, archery with proper coaching, and mountain biking on purpose-built features. Team challenges like crate stacking and the acid river crossing are in there too, which is where the group dynamics get interesting.
It's booked by session rather than by the day for most visits. Evenings and Saturdays cost £14 for one hour and one activity, up to £28 for three hours and two or three activities. Weekdays before 5pm cost more, from £17 for an hour up to £36 for three, and if you want the lot there's a full day of five or six activities running 9:30 to 4pm for £43 on evenings and Saturdays, or £51 on weekdays. Schools get their own version: a 9:30am to 3pm day with five activities for £38.
The minimum age is 8, so this isn't one for younger siblings tagging along, and the physical nature of the ropes and towers means it suits kids who are happy with height and a bit of a challenge rather than those after a gentle wander round. Booking has to go through a phone call rather than an online link, and you'll need a 30% deposit to secure a provisional slot, which is only held for seven days. That's a bit more admin than tapping through a booking site, but it does mean someone's actually confirming what you're getting for your money.
They run birthday parties, group bookings and school visits, so this works as well for a scout troop or a class trip as it does for a family session on a Saturday.
