Memo Arts Centre Barry
WHERE
Barry
What it’s like
A theatre and arts centre in Barry where you catch a show, with free parking and buggy storage sorted for you.
This is a proper theatre space rather than a soft play or farm day, so the plan is simple: book a show, turn up, watch it. The site mentions pantomime and family theatre among what's on, with digital e-tickets sent straight to your phone or printed at home, and physical tickets available from the box office if you'd rather not deal with email at all.
Getting there is easier than a lot of venues manage. There's free on-site parking with 130 spaces including disabled bays, and if you're coming by train it's about a ten minute walk from Barry or Barry Docks station. A bus stop sits within 30 metres of the door too, which matters if you're wrangling a pushchair and don't fancy a long walk from the car.
Speaking of pushchairs, there's a Buggy Park next to the auditorium so you're not stuck folding one up in your seat, though it's left at your own risk. Baby changing is in the ground floor accessible toilet, and they'll do hot water for bottle warming and have highchairs and booster seats going, so a visit with a baby in tow isn't the faff it can be elsewhere.
Booking is where it gets slightly old-fashioned. Phone lines run Monday to Wednesday 10 to 2, and if you want to book in person that's Monday and Tuesday 11 to 2 only, via the Gladstone Road entrance. Online booking is open 24/7 though, so that's the easier route if you're not fussed about speaking to anyone.

Plan your visit
How do I book tickets?
Online 24/7 through their website, or by phone Monday to Wednesday 10am to 2pm. In person it's Monday and Tuesday 11am to 2pm via the Gladstone Road entrance.
How will we get our tickets?
They come as e-tickets by email, so you show the PDF on your phone or print it at home. If you don't use email, the box office can give you a physical ticket instead.
Is there parking?
Yes, free on-site parking with 130 spaces including disabled bays. There's also on-street parking on Gladstone Road and St Paul's Avenue if the car park's full.
What if we're travelling with a baby?
Baby changing is in the ground floor accessible toilet, highchairs and booster seats are available, and they'll provide hot water for warming bottles.
Can we bring a pushchair inside?
There's a Buggy Park next to the auditorium where you can leave it, though it's at your own risk rather than staffed.
When should we arrive?
Aim to get there at least 30 minutes before the show starts. Bars open an hour before, doors usually open half an hour before.
