What it’s like
Pedal tractors, a maize maze and indoor play areas split by age, with a farm walk to see the animals along the way.
There's a proper split here between the farm bit and the play bit. Little ones get their own baby and toddler indoor play zones away from the junior area, so a one-year-old isn't getting barrelled over by a six-year-old on a go-kart. Outside there's the maize maze, an activity tunnel, pedal tractors and go-karts, and a farm walk past the paddocks that gets you round the animals without anyone melting down halfway.
Toddler Time is the one to know about if you've got an under-4. It runs Wednesday to Friday mornings in term-time, 9:15 to 11:30, and at £5.50 a child (£1.50 under-1s) it's noticeably cheaper than the full indoor play ticket. Full indoor play is £7.50 for 4 to 10 year olds, £6.50 under 4, and last entry is 3:30pm if you want the full 90 minutes rather than a rushed hour. Term-time school visits can eat into toddler morning slots, so it's not guaranteed to be quiet just because it's a Wednesday.
Birthday parties run indoors on Saturdays and weekdays, lasting up to about an hour and three quarters depending on the package, and the birthday child gets a free return pass, which is a nice touch. Worth knowing you don't get exclusive use of the soft play or farm for a party, and they want a minimum of eight children booked in. Saturday parties only run March to October, it's indoors only the rest of the year.
October brings Pumpkin Days, with spooky storytelling thrown in, though the tearoom and indoor play close for the event and pumpkins themselves are priced separately from the ticket. There's a cafe on site the rest of the year, picnics are allowed, and there's a baby change if you need it.
