What it’s like
A calm café where rescue cats wander about while you sip a coffee, read or play a quiet game.
You book a slot, sit down and let the cats decide what happens next. This is a proper cat lounge rather than a play café for kids to charge about in: rescue cats roam the room, and you bring a book or a board game and see who comes over for a fuss. It suits a slow hour more than a big day out.
The rules are simple but firm. No running, no sudden movements, and the catification shelves are for the cats, not for climbing. That's fair enough given the residents, but it does mean this isn't the place for a child who needs to move to be happy. A quieter, calmer kid who likes animals will get far more out of it than one who wants to be active.
Sessions are small and relaxed, which keeps the room from feeling crowded and gives the cats space to actually settle near you rather than hide. There's a short drinks and snack menu on site, coffees and teas a couple of pounds each, plus Pocky, Candy Kittens and crisps if anyone gets peckish while they wait for a cat to notice them.
It's shut on Tuesdays, open the rest of the week from 11 to 5, and you do need to book ahead rather than turn up on spec.
