What it’s like
A Wednesday Zoom art class for ages 5 to 16, booked five sessions at a time, plus studio birthday parties where they paint and pour.
This one runs on Zoom rather than in a studio: a creative art class every Wednesday evening, 8 to 9:20pm, for ages 5 to 16. You'll need to book five sessions up front rather than trying a single night, which is the bit that'll decide it for you. £50 covers the block, so it's £10 a session, and materials aren't included, meaning there's a kit to sort before the first class.
What they cover is properly varied: painting, acrylic pouring, resin and alcohol inks all come up. Sessions run 60 minutes, which for a five-year-old on a screen at 8pm is about the limit; an 11-year-old working on mandala painting on a large wooden box will happily stay the distance. Worth knowing it's the class that's online and the parties that are in the studio, in case you were picturing the other way round.
Birthday parties are the in-person option, held in the studio, mixed media arty sessions for ages 5 up to 16. There's mandala and impasto painting on wooden boxes, jewellery box making and scrapbook making, with scrapbooks pitched at the five-year-olds. You can also put your own group together and pick a date and time that suits, which is handy if the Wednesday slot never fits your week.
The cancellation rules are strict, so be sure of your dates before you pay. Cancel 24 hours ahead and there's a 50% admin fee; inside 24 hours or if you simply don't turn up, no refund at all. That's a real consideration when you're booking five weeks in one go, and it's the main thing I'd weigh up against the price.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£10 a session, but you book a minimum of five at once, so £50 to start. Class materials are extra on top of that.
Do we have to book, or can we try one class?
Booking is required, and it's a five-session minimum rather than a one-off. The block is booked and paid in one go.
When does the class run?
Wednesdays, 8 to 9:20pm. It's a 60-minute session, held online via Zoom.
Is it in a studio or online?
The weekly class is online via Zoom. The birthday parties are the in-person bit, held in the studio.
What ages is it for?
Five to 16. A 60-minute evening screen session suits the older end better, though the scrapbook making is pitched at five-year-olds.
What do they actually make?
Painting, acrylic pouring, resin and alcohol inks come up in the classes. Parties add mandala and impasto painting on wooden boxes, jewellery box making and scrapbooks.
Can we book a party on a date that suits us?
They'll let you form your own group and pick a date and time. Parties run in the studio for ages 5 up to 16.
What if we need to cancel?
Cancelling 24 hours before costs a 50% admin fee. Inside 24 hours there's no refund, and there's none for non-attendance either.
