What it’s like
Free English conversation practice on Wednesday mornings in term time, plus a Friday foodbank and a Sunday service with groups for kids.
The Wednesday morning English Language Café is the main grown-up draw: a term-time session from 10am to 11.30am where you practise your English by talking with whoever else turns up. It's free, there's no booking, and you just walk in. Practice through conversation rather than a taught class, so the more you put in, the more you get out. If you're not sure your level will fit, the honest answer is that a conversation table sorts itself out within about ten minutes.
Sundays bring the children's groups, split by age from 0 to 18, so families with a baby and a teenager are both covered. There's a Babies & Toddlers group as well, which is the one to know about if you've got a little one and want somewhere to go midweek. Everything the church runs is free to attend, which is unusual enough to be worth saying plainly.
The Friday Foodbank runs 11am to noon, and here's the catch: you need a voucher from Citizens Advice or a health care professional before you turn up. If you don't have one, the church office is open 12.30pm to 1pm on the same Friday to help you sort it. The Foodbank team has a published email address if you'd rather ask first.
Getting there is straightforward. It's about a 10 minute walk from Northwood tube on the Metropolitan line, zone 6, and there's a small car park front and back with three disabled spaces. Road parking nearby is free except between 1pm and 2pm on weekdays, which catches people out. The car park is small, so if you're driving to a busy session, the street is your fallback.

What does it cost?

No. You need a voucher from Citizens Advice or a health care professional first. If you haven't got one, the church office is open 12.30pm to 1pm on Friday to help.

A small car park at the front and back, with three disabled spaces. Road parking nearby is free apart from 1pm to 2pm on weekdays, so watch the clock if you're there over lunch.

What ages are the children's groups for?
Sunday groups cover 0 to 18, and there's a separate Babies & Toddlers group during the week.
