This is a sushi and small-plates spot, the izakaya style where you order a few dishes to share rather than one plate each. Monday's an evening-only affair, and Tuesday to Saturday it's dinner service too, but if you want to get the kids fed before bedtime looms, the weekend lunch sittings are your window: Saturday and Sunday both run 12:00 to 14:30, with last orders at 13:45 and 13:30 respectively.

Evenings run later, up to 22:30 on Tuesday to Saturday, but last orders are earlier than the closing time suggests, so don't wander in at half nine expecting a full sitting. It's a small independent, and there's no online booking listed, so you're looking at a phone call or email if you want a table locked in rather than hoping for the best on a Saturday night.

Parking's not right outside, but it's not a trek either. There's space next to Beeston Methodist church, and Chilwell Road parking is about a minute's walk from there. Worth bearing in mind if you're juggling a buggy and a toddler who's already decided they're starving.
