What it’s like

Hands-on cookery courses where a child over 10 can cook alongside an adult, plus adult-only feast classes from £25.

Most of the scheduled courses here are for adults, running from a £25 weaning class up to themed feasts like the Italian Autumn Feast or South East Asia on a Plate, most sitting around £120 to £130. But there's a Cook Together ticket that lets a child over 10 get stuck in alongside an adult, and if that doesn't fit what you're after, they'll put together a bespoke course for children and an adult if you email ahead.

The courses aren't drop-in sessions where kids potter about with flour. These are proper classes, ingredients and equipment supplied, aprons on, and you're expected to wear layers and closed shoes and bring something to tie hair back. That's a fair bit more organised than your average kids' baking morning, and it suits a ten or eleven-year-old who's genuinely interested in cooking rather than one who wants to make a mess and leave.

The seasonal themes are the reason to book ahead rather than just turn up on spec. Christmas brings canapes, a wreath workshop and a panettone and limoncello cream course, so if you fancy one of those you'll want to get in before the slots go. Allergies and dietary needs can sometimes be worked around, but not always, so it's worth flagging anything serious when you book rather than turning up and hoping.

Bring a container. They mention you can take home whatever you don't eat, which is a nice touch after paying £120 for a feast class.

Best for
Over 10s cooking alongside an adult, not younger children
  • Cook Together tickets are the only way to bring a child over 10 into a scheduled class
  • Bespoke child and adult courses are arranged by email, not booked online
  • Closed shoes and something to tie hair back are expected, not optional extras
  • Take a container if you want to bring leftovers home

Plan your visit

Can children come to these classes?

Most scheduled courses are adults only, but a Cook Together ticket lets a child over 10 join with an adult. You can also email to arrange a bespoke course for a child and an adult.

How much do the courses cost?

The weaning course is £25 for an adult. The feast and themed courses mostly sit between £110 and £140.

Do I need to book in advance?

There's no booking link listed, but the themed and Christmas courses sound like the kind of thing that fills up, so email ahead rather than turning up on the day.

What do we need to bring?

Nothing for the cooking itself, ingredients and equipment including aprons are provided. Wear layers and closed shoes, bring something to tie your hair back, and bring a container if you want to take leftovers home.

Can they cater for allergies?

Some courses can work around allergies and dietary needs, though not every ingredient can be swapped. Email them at booking so they know in advance.
