What it’s like

Free to wander, with pirate-themed adventure golf, swing boats and a soft play galleon that only cost a couple of quid a go.

Getting in costs nothing, which is the first thing worth knowing. Once you're through the gate the extras are all small change: adventure golf, the roundabout and the swing boats are £2 each, so a family can pick two or three and still have change for an ice cream. The 16-hole pirate golf is the one to save for last, it takes a bit longer than you'd think and the theming keeps a six-year-old going long after they'd normally have given up on mini golf.

There's an indoor soft play with a pirate galleon and ball pits for the days the Lancashire weather does what it usually does, plus a natural adventure playground and woodland trails if your one is happier climbing trees than queueing for a ride. The swing boats and roundabout only run April to October, and only when it's dry enough, so a soggy February visit means it's really the soft play and the walks carrying the day.

Café Rastelli does hot specials, sandwiches and pancakes, and everything on the menu is available to take away if you'd rather picnic on the grass. Ice cream vans turn up in the warmer months too. Parking is on the promenade or the pay and display next to the golf course, and there's limited disabled parking at the rear with easier access in.

If a birthday's coming up, they run pirate or mermaid soft play parties with food and games included, though you'll need at least 15 children booked in, so it suits a big class invite more than a small gathering.

Plan your visit

Is it free to get in?

Yes, the park itself is free. You only pay for individual attractions like the golf, roundabout or swing boats, which are £2 each.

Do we need to book?

Booking is essential for the special events and parties given the limited capacity, but you can just turn up for the everyday attractions.

What age is it best for?

It suits roughly ages 1 to 8, with the soft play and playground doing most of the work for the younger end.

Are the golf, swing boats and roundabout open all year?

Adventure golf and the roundabout run April to October, and the swing boats are a summer holidays thing only, all weather permitting.

What if it rains?

The indoor soft play with the pirate galleon and ball pits keeps going regardless, and the woodland trails are fine in a shower too.

Is there food on site?

Café Rastelli does hot specials, sandwiches, soups and pancakes, and there are ice cream vans around in summer.

Can we bring a picnic?

Yes, and everything on the café menu is available to take away if you'd rather eat on the grass.

Is there parking?

There's parking on the promenade and a pay and display car park next to Morecambe Golf Course, plus limited disabled parking at the rear entrance.

Can we bring the dog?

Dogs on leads are welcome in most areas of the park.

Do you do birthday parties?

Pirate or mermaid themed soft play parties run for 1 hour 50 minutes, from £15.95 a child, but you need a minimum of 15 children booked.

How long does a visit take?

That depends how many of the paid attractions you do, but between the golf, the playground and the woodland walks you could easily fill a few hours.

Is it accessible for wheelchairs and pushchairs?

There's a disabled toilet and limited disabled parking at the rear with easy access in, and the park is generally pushchair friendly.
