What it’s like
Free outdoor play and a proper licensed café to go with it, with free parking on site.
This one's outdoor play with a café attached rather than the other way round, and it costs nothing to get in. There's no ticket, no session to book, you just turn up, let the kids loose outside and grab a table when you fancy a sit down.
The café itself is licensed, which is a nice touch if you want a glass of something while the kids are outside, and they do gluten-free options too. Food's described as reasonably priced, which for a place with free parking and free entry feels like they're not trying to squeeze you at every turn. Worth knowing the kitchen shuts at 3pm, after that it's takeaway only, so if you're planning a late lunch you'll want to get there before then.
Opening hours are 9:30am to 4pm on weekdays and 9am to 4pm at weekends, so it's not a long day out, more a morning or early afternoon one. With free parking on site and it being near tram and bus stops, getting there is easy whichever way you're travelling. It's dog friendly too, right down to having its own doggy menu, and there are party rooms if you're thinking about a birthday.
It's wheelchair accessible and there are toilets on site, both handy details you don't always get with outdoor play spots. There's wifi as well if you need to get some work emails out of the way while the kids are busy outside.
