What it’s like
Free rhymes, story sessions and Saturday Lego building for kids, plus books to borrow, all at no cost.
This is a proper working library with a decent run of sessions for kids built round it. Under-fours get Rhythm and Rhyme, all songs, rhymes and stories together, and there's a separate story time pitched at four to eight year olds if yours has moved past nursery rhymes. Saturdays bring a weekly Lego building session, which is the one to save for the end of the week if your child needs a reason to get up on a Saturday morning.
Bedtime Hour is the one that stands out: stories, rhymes and supper together, aimed at three to ten year olds, so it works as a wind-down that isn't just screen time before bed. Everything here is free, and you can borrow books as often as you like on top of whatever sessions you turn up for.
Hours shift through the week. Monday and Wednesday it's open until 8pm, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday it shuts at half five, and Saturday is a short morning slot finishing at 1pm. There's no booking link listed.
It's all indoor and fully accessible, with a hearing loop, an accessible toilet and baby changing on site. There's parking outside including a disabled bay, so getting a buggy or a wheelchair in shouldn't be a problem.
