What it’s like
A gravel-lot scare park of horror mazes, tactical stunt shows and fire displays, strictly for adults, not kids.
This one's not for the family day-out list at all. FEAR Avon Valley Scream Park is a strictly over-16s event, and the site is blunt about it: no under-16s allowed even with an adult in tow, and anyone 16 or 17 needs a responsible adult with them all night. So if you were hoping to sneak the kids in for a milder Halloween thrill, this isn't that place.
What's actually on offer is a run of scare mazes, Seeds of Evil, Malefica: Into Darkness, X4, The Core and VITA NOVA among them, plus thrill rides like the Waltzer and Venom, and a Lock N Load tactical stunt experience that packs ten minutes of combat and flashing lights into a proper adrenaline hit. There's also street theatre, dance shows, and a fire and laser show to break up the queuing, because queuing is part of the deal here. Screens around the site show queue times so you can plan your route rather than just trudging from maze to maze.
The attractions lean hard into strobe lighting, smoke, loud noise, total darkness and tight spaces, which is exactly what you want from a scare park but worth knowing if anyone in your group isn't keen on that sort of thing. The ground is gravel throughout, and while the site itself is wheelchair accessible, the scare mazes are not, so that's a real limitation if mobility is a factor. Food-wise there's a decent spread, smoked brisket rolls, mac 'n cheese, vegan options, plus a bar doing draught beer and cocktails, so you won't go hungry between screams.
Tickets are bought online and are non-transferable and non-refundable, so double check your dates before you commit. Parking on site is free, and there's a bus stop nearby plus a short taxi ride from Keynsham train station if you're coming without a car.
