What it’s like

A timed-slot Christmas grotto at the North Pole village, with Santa, a penguin soft toy and a photo to take home.

This is Dobbies' Santa's Grotto, set up as a North Pole village with a bit of an interactive walk before you reach the man himself. Kids get to share their Christmas wishes and come away with a collectable penguin soft toy, which is included in the ticket price. There are photo opportunities dotted through the experience too, and you can get a proper printed photo with Santa done professionally.

Tickets run from £15 to £17 for a child, booked as a timed slot rather than a turn-up-and-queue affair. The site is fussy about timing: they want you there no more than five minutes before your slot, and you won't get in earlier than that. If you fancy the photo package, pre-booking it saves you 20 percent on the day price.

It only runs from 22 November to 24 December 2026, so this is very much a December fixture rather than a year-round thing. Adults stay with their child throughout, as you'd expect from any grotto visit with under-fives in tow.

How much does the grotto cost?

Child tickets run from £15 to £17 and include a penguin soft toy. A printed photo with Santa costs extra, though booking that in advance saves 20 percent.

Do we need to book ahead?

Yes, it's timed slot booking. Arrive no more than five minutes before your slot as they won't let you in early.

When does the grotto run?

From 22 November to 24 December 2026.

Is it suitable for babies and toddlers?

There's no minimum age listed, so it's open to the youngest visitors too. An adult needs to stay with the child throughout.
