What it’s like
A board game library of over 1,000 titles to play through, with under 13s getting in free.
The pull here is the wall of games, over a thousand of them, and a bit of staff or fellow players to help you pick one if you're stood there paralysed by choice. It's £8 for an adult to dip into the library, but under 13s play for free, which makes it a decent shout if you've got a kid keen enough on Catan or Codenames to sit through a proper game rather than a quick round.
If you've already got a game you love and just want a table and a coffee, it's £3 to bring your own rather than dig into the library, a fair bit cheaper if you know exactly what you're playing. Monday and Thursday the library price drops to £4, so those are the days to pick if you want a longer session without it adding up.
There's a café on site and it's dog friendly, so a Saturday afternoon with the dog under the table and a hot chocolate on the go isn't out of the question. It's right next to Victoria Bus Station, which makes it an easy one if you're coming in without a car.
Opening hours are generous, 11am to 11pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm at weekends, so there's no rush to squeeze a visit into a narrow window. Tournaments and casual card game nights run alongside the regular play, which is more one for older kids or teenagers who fancy a bit of competitive Magic or similar than for a toddler.
