What it’s like
A mini role-play town where kids clock in as vets, firefighters and doctors for a tightly timed 90-minute shift.
The whole idea here is pretend jobs. Your child picks a role, doctor, vet, firefighter or emergency medic, and gets stuck into a miniature town built for exactly that kind of imaginative play. There's a separate Montessori-based area for babies under 12 months, so if you've got one walking toddler and one still on the floor, both get somewhere that suits them.
Sessions run 1.5 hours and that's a hard stop, not a suggestion. You can turn up any time during your slot, but it ends when it ends and they use the gap between groups to reset the whole town, so there's no lingering with a coffee afterwards. Booking ahead is strongly recommended since numbers per session are capped, and if a slot's been taken for an exclusive party booking you won't get in as a walk-up.
Socks on at all times, which is fair enough for a baby-heavy play space, and slippers are welcome too if it's cold out. You can't bring your own snacks in, it's their menu only, partly for allergy reasons and partly because it's a small family business that relies on those sales, so don't turn up with a packed lunch expecting to eat it there. Pricing is by age band, £6.95 over 12 months, £4.95 for the 6-12 month walking group, and pre-walkers under six months go free with a paying sibling.
Parking on site is limited and does fill up on busy weekday or wet sessions, though there's free parking on Effingham Road until 4pm and extra spots on Lumley Street for afternoon and weekend visits. They're open seven days a week bar Christmas and New Year, and there are occasional evening pyjama sessions if bath-time-to-bedtime is more your family's rhythm than a Saturday morning.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£6.95 for anyone over 12 months, £4.95 for the 6 to 12 month walking group. Under six months goes free alongside a paying sibling.
Do we need to book?
Booking's strongly recommended since each session has limited numbers. Turn up without one and you risk a session that's been booked out exclusively for a party.
How long is a session?
1.5 hours, and it ends on time whatever time you arrive within it. You can't stay on afterwards as they reset the town for the next group.
Is there anything for babies?
Yes, a dedicated Montessori-based Little Explorer area for babies under 12 months, separate from the main play town.
What's the upper age limit?
They say children are never too old to play, welcoming toddlers through to older primary school age.
Can we bring our own food?
It's their menu only. That's partly for children with allergies and partly because it keeps the family business running.
What if I need to cancel or change my booking?
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer to another session if you email them with 24 hours notice.
Is there parking?
There's some on-site parking but it can fill up on busy or wet sessions. Free parking on Effingham Road runs until 4pm and Lumley Street has extra space for afternoon and weekend visits.
Do we have to play with our kids the whole time?
Not if they're safe and sharing nicely, you're free to sit back with a coffee. They'd rather you noticed the play than stared at your phone though.
Can you cater for additional needs?
They say the venue is designed to be fully accessible and there are designated sessions for immunosuppressed children. Worth getting in touch directly to talk through specifics.
