What it’s like
A £2 farm with alpacas and highland cows, a playbarn full of slides and rope decks, plus fishing and an air rifle range if you fancy a change of pace.
The animal side is £2 to get in and takes you round alpacas, highland cows, ponies and pygmy goats, the kind of low-stakes wander that fills an hour without anyone needing to be entertained every minute. Inside there's a proper playbarn too, soft play with rope decks, wave decks, a sensory wall and swing pads, and outside there's a playpark with a trampoline for when the weather's playing along.
What sets this apart from your average petting farm is the fishing and the air rifle range, both listed as things to do on site. That's not a bad shout for an older kid who's decided animals are for babies, or for a dad who fancies something to do while the little ones nap in the buggy. Just don't bring a picnic. Food bought on site is fine to eat there, but they're clear that outside picnics aren't allowed, which stings a bit if you'd packed sandwiches.
Playbarn entry needs a time slot booked online, so this isn't quite a turn-up-and-go visit if soft play is the plan. The animal areas are a different story, no booking mentioned there. Worth knowing if you're bringing a wheelchair that some of the animal paths have speed bumps and gravel that aren't great for wheels, though the site as a whole is listed as wheelchair accessible.
It's open every day, 10 till 4:45, with last entry at 4pm, so a late afternoon dash isn't really on. Parking's free, there's a café and toilets, and an under-5s area for the smaller ones who aren't ready for the big rope decks yet.

Plan your visit
How much does it cost?
£2 gets you into the animal areas. That's the only price they give, so playbarn and the rest may be separate.
Do we need to book?
The playbarn needs a time slot booked online. The animal areas don't seem to need booking.
Can we bring a picnic?
No. Picnics aren't allowed, only food bought on site can be eaten there.
Is it OK for a toddler?
There's an under-5s area in the playbarn, so the very small ones are covered alongside the bigger rope decks and slides.
Is it accessible for wheelchairs?
Mostly yes, but some animal paths have speed bumps and gravel that make certain areas tricky for wheelchair users.
What time should we get there?
They're open 10am to 4:45pm daily, but last entry is 4pm, so don't leave it too late in the afternoon.
