What it’s like
A wedding venue with a lake, a lawn ceremony spot and a licensed barn for the reception, not a family day out.
This one is for the adults planning a wedding rather than a family afternoon. Ceremonies happen in the Atrium, on the lawn, or looking out over the lake, and they only ever run one wedding at a time, so you get exclusive use of the place for your day.
The Granary Barn is where the reception lives. It seats 200 comfortably for sit down dining and can hold up to 250 for the evening do, with 6ft round tables and chairs already included in the hire price, which saves you a separate hire bill. There's a staffed licensed bar too, running from when you arrive after the ceremony right through until midnight, with one real ale on rotation. Table wine is allowed while food is being served, but that's as far as bringing your own drink goes.
Catering is on you rather than in-house, though they'll point you towards recommended caterers and there's a kitchen in the barn for your chosen team to work from. A wedding co-ordinator, Elizabeth Clapham, is on hand to help it all run smoothly. Two large parking fields cover the practical side of getting everyone there, with disabled parking included, and dogs are welcome on a lead if yours is part of the big day.
The venue itself closes at half midnight and needs to be fully cleared by 1am.
