What it’s like
A walk-through jungle trail and timed animal encounters where you get up close with bugs and reptiles, not a trampoline in sight despite the "soft play" label.
Don't let the category fool you, this isn't a foam-block soft play. It's a walk-through Jungle Trail where you spot animals and plants from around the world, plus scheduled Animal Encounters, 15 to 30 minute sessions where someone talks you through the bugs and reptiles on show and lets you get properly close. That's the bit worth timing your visit around, since the site says the schedule can shift or get cancelled at short notice, so it pays to ask what's on when you arrive rather than assume.
Entry is £7.50 for an adult and £6.50 for a child, with under-2s in free, which feels fair for a couple of hours poking round rather than a full day out. There's no booking system, you just turn up, and last entry is half an hour before closing, so a late-afternoon dash isn't really on the cards.
The biosecurity rules are the one genuine faff here. Pushchairs are meant to stay outside, and if you do bring one in it needs a proper disinfect first, which is a bit of a production with a sleeping baby. Dogs aren't allowed at all, including assistance animals, though they say to get in touch ahead if you need one accommodated. There's a café on site and free parking, so the practical bits are sorted even if the bug-cleaning bit isn't your favourite part of the morning.
It suits anyone who likes the idea of reptiles and creepy-crawlies rather than a climbing frame, and birthday parties and school visits are both catered for if you want to make more of a day of it.
