What it’s like

Walk-in coffee shop in Beeston with a brunch and lunch menu, cakes on the counter, and high chairs for the small ones.

This is a coffee-first sort of café, the kind that roasts its own and takes the flat white seriously, but there's a proper seasonal brunch and lunch menu too if you're turning up hungry rather than just after a caffeine top-up. The counter's stacked with freshly baked cakes, buns and pastries, which is generally enough to buy you ten minutes of peace while you wait for your order.

It's walk-in only, no booking, so you can turn up with a buggy and a toddler mid-meltdown and just see if there's a table. High chairs are there for the little ones, and the place is dog-friendly if you're bringing the other member of the family along too. There's indoor seating and wifi if you end up staying longer than planned, which with a slow toddler and a good pastry is not unlikely.

Hours are straightforward: 8am to 5pm Monday to Saturday, 9am to 4pm on Sundays. It closes in the evening, so this is a daytime stop, breakfast through to a late lunch, not a dinner option. If you're a regular there's a stamp app that gets your tenth coffee free, which is a nice enough reason to keep coming back to the same spot.
