Butlins Fairground
BEST FOR

WHERE

What it’s like
Dodgems, vintage stalls and a mini fairground for the little ones, plus go-karts and a bungee trampoline if you fancy paying extra.
This is the fairground bit of the resort, split between the classic rides and a smaller corner built for younger children. Dodgems and old-school stall games cover the bigger kids, while Little Stars Fairground has teacups and mini planes sized for toddlers who aren't ready for the full-on spinning stuff.
Every child eight and under has to be with an adult, which makes sense on a fairground but does mean you can't just point a seven-year-old at the dodgems and go and sit down. Go-karts and the bungee trampoline are the two rides that sit outside the unlimited entry, so if your child's set their heart on either, budget for it separately rather than assuming it's covered.
Parking on resort is £1 a day, or there's a pay and display option on Gloucester Road opposite the entrance if you'd rather not drive in. There's food on site to fall back on when the sugar crash hits after the third go on the dodgems.
No booking is needed to turn up, so it works well as a spontaneous add-on to a day at the resort rather than something you have to plan around.
