Brighton Swing Choir

What it’s like

Weekly Monday-night singing sessions in Brighton, learning four-part swing and jazz arrangements with no audition needed.

This one's for the grown-ups. Every Monday evening from 7:30pm to 9:15pm, the choir works through bespoke four-part arrangements of swing and jazz era songs, the kind of thing that sounds a lot harder than it turns out to be once you're in the room. There's no audition and no experience required, which takes the pressure off if the last time you sang in public was at school.

You sign up by the term rather than paying per session. Autumn 2026 runs 13 weeks for £136, Spring 2027 is 10 weeks for £105 and Summer 2027 is 11 weeks for £110, so it works out at roughly a tenner a week depending on the term length. There's no drop-in option and the fees don't come back if you change your mind partway through, which is worth knowing before you commit. Your first session is free though.

Between sessions you get access to an online Swing Choir Area with warm up videos, audio tracks and scores for everything the choir performs. You don't need to be able to read music to use it. Payment is by bank transfer or card at the Monday sessions themselves, taken at the start of each term.
