Brick Party York

What it’s like

Structured LEGO building competitions and games with over 40kg of bricks, run as two-hour sessions for 5 to 12 year olds.

This one's for the LEGO-obsessed rather than a general soft play swap-in. Kids get stuck into structured games and building competitions using more than 40kg of bricks, with prizes on offer for the winners. It's a proper session with a shape to it, not just a table of bricks and a free-for-all, which suits kids who like a bit of structure to their building.

Sessions run for two hours, booked in advance, and the age range is 5 to 12. That's worth knowing if you've got a younger sibling in tow, since this isn't really built for toddlers. There's a café and indoor seating, so you're not stuck standing about while the building's going on.

Birthday parties are the other big draw. They run LEGO parties for 5 to 12 year olds with structured games, activities and LEGO prizes built in, and you can add on a build-your-own minifigure party bag for a small charge, which solves the party bag question in one go rather than you having to sort it yourself.
