What it’s like
Duckpin bowling, darts and ping pong at a dog-friendly BrewDog, with a kids' menu and free kids' bowling in half-term.
This is a bowling alley bolted onto a BrewDog, so expect duckpin lanes rather than the full ten-pin set-up, plus darts and ping pong to fill the gaps between frames. Kids are welcome and there's a Hoppy Meal box for £9.95 that'll keep most under-13s happy, alongside the usual burgers, wings and pizzas from the main menu. Dogs are allowed too, which is either a bonus or a distraction depending on how your kids feel about strange dogs wandering past the lanes.
Kids are only around until 9pm, which is fair enough given the venue and makes it a straightforward early-evening or weekend afternoon plan rather than a late one. During October half-term (26 to 30 October) there's a proper reason to go: kids bowl free between 9am and 12pm, and if you book a table to eat with an adult, kids eat free too, as long as you remember to pick that offer when booking. Outside of half-term you're paying full whack, so it's worth timing a visit around those dates if you can.
Birthdays get a decent perk: bring three or more mates and the birthday person's drinks are on the house every round, booked via the BDAY PARTY offer within 14 days either side of the actual birthday. There's also private meeting room hire if you fancy turning a party into something more grown-up, though at £350 a day or £95 an hour that's a different kind of budget entirely.
Booking ahead is recommended if you're going at a peak time, but walk-ins are fine when it's quiet. Baby change and wheelchair access are both there.
