WHERE

Halland

What it’s like

Zip wires, a giant swing and tree-top ropes courses in the woods near Halland, priced per activity.

This is a proper woodland activity site, not a soft play with a climbing frame bolted on. Kids can have a go at the Low Ropes course, the High Ropes with its 140 metre zip wire, the climbing wall, the giant swing or the Bounce About tree net system, and there's a Mini Ropes course just for the 3 to 4 year olds so the smallest ones aren't stuck watching from a bench. Older kids and teenagers get proper team stuff too, like the Crate Challenge, abseiling and Leap of Faith.

Everything's priced separately rather than as one entry fee, so it adds up fast if you want to do more than one thing. High Ropes is £23 for a child and £25 for an adult, while the smaller extras like the climbing wall or zipwire are £6 to £8 each. Worth deciding in advance what you actually want to do rather than letting the kids loose on the price list.

There are rules that catch families out if you don't check first. Height and weight limits apply across the board (1.2m minimum for Low Ropes, 1.3m for the High Ropes, swing and zipwire, and a 120kg weight limit on everything), and they won't let you turn up in crocs, flip-flops or wellies. Bookings are essential, especially at weekends and school holidays, and arriving late can mean losing your slot with no refund.

The café does hot drinks, snacks and seasonal ice cream, and there are outdoor tables if you've brought your own picnic. Parking's free in a gravel car park at the end of the road. There's no changing room on site, so get everyone dressed for the outdoors before you arrive rather than relying on facilities once you're there.

Plan your visit

How much does it cost?

It's priced per activity rather than one entry fee. High Ropes is £23 for a child and £25 for an adult, Low Ropes £20 to £22, and the shorter activities like the climbing wall, giant swing and zipwire are £6 to £8 each.

Do we need to book?

Yes, and it's essential for weekends and school holidays. Weekday term-time slots depend on bookings too, so the site isn't always guaranteed to be open.

What age can kids start?

From 3 years old on the Mini Ropes course. The other activities have height limits rather than age limits, so it's really about whether they're tall enough.

Are there height or weight restrictions?

Low Ropes needs 1.2m minimum height, and High Ropes, the giant swing and zipwire need 1.3m. There's also a 120kg weight limit across all the activities.

What should we wear?

Proper outdoor gear you don't mind getting muddy. Crocs, flip-flops and wellies aren't allowed on any of the activities.

Is there parking?

Yes, a free gravel car park at the end of the road through Bentley, open during opening hours.

What if we're running late?

Try not to be. Late arrivals may not get to do their activities and there are no refunds.

Is there food on site?

There's a café with hot drinks, snacks, seasonal ice cream and fresh fruit. You can bring your own picnic for the outdoor tables, but not into the café itself.

Can dogs come along?

They can, on a lead, but they need to be tied up while the kids are doing activities.

Do you do birthday parties?

There are party packages that can include the rope courses and other activities. You'll need to bring your own cake.

What happens in bad weather?

Climbing gets suspended during extreme weather or high winds, so it's worth having a backup plan if the forecast looks rough.

Is there anywhere to change or leave bags?

There aren't changing facilities on site, so arrive already dressed for the activities.
