What it’s like

Daytime here is a proper mixed bag: crazier golf, shuffleboard, American pool, beer pong and augmented reality darts, all under one roof. Axe throwing's on the list too, but that one's 18 and over only, so it's a game for you and the other grown-ups while the kids have a go on the golf. There's a private karaoke pod as well if singing is more your family's speed than sport.

Under-18s are welcome, but only until 7pm and only with an adult glued to them the whole visit, so this is a daytime plan rather than an evening one. Walk in for food and drinks any time, no booking needed, but if you actually want to play the games it's worth booking ahead, especially weekends, because slots aren't guaranteed if you just turn up. Under-16s need an adult with them throughout, not just at the door.

Money-wise, a shuffleboard game is £3, the £10 meal deal gets you food and a house drink, and the BOOM Bundle at £27.50 bundles a game with food and drinks together, which is the better value if you're doing more than one activity. It's card only, so leave the coins at home. The street food menu runs to burgers, chicken tenders and fries, with cocktails and mocktails for the grown-ups and non-drinkers alike.

It's a ten minute walk from Leeds train station, and there's a multi storey car park at Victoria Gate if you're driving in. Bookings are non-refundable, which stings if plans change. Parties are catered for too, birthday, hen or stag, with the birthday person going free on those packages.
