What it’s like
A free outdoor BMX track in Sheffield with jumps and berms to ride, plus club sessions and volunteer days.
This is a dirt BMX track cut into the hillside, the sort of place where you turn up with a bike and just get stuck into the jumps and berms rather than paying for a session or booking a slot. It's free to use, which makes it an easy one to add to the list if you've already got a BMX or mountain bike gathering dust in the shed.
There are organised club events and volunteer days too, which is when the track sees a bit more structure and company, though the rest of the time it reads as an open, ride-when-you-like spot.
Parking is the bit to plan around. On-site space is tight, only three or four vehicles, and that's specifically for club events and volunteer days rather than general use. Street parking on Bole Hill Road, Moorsyde Avenue, Northfield Avenue, Longfield Road and Woodfield Road is the fallback, so it's worth allowing a few minutes to find a spot and walk in.

Plan your visit
Is it free to use?
Yes, there's no charge to ride the track.
Do we need to book?
There's no booking link, so it works as a turn-up-and-ride track outside of organised events.
Is there parking on site?
Only three or four spaces, and those are for club events and volunteer days. Otherwise it's street parking on the surrounding roads.
Are there organised sessions?
The track hosts club events and volunteer days alongside general use, so it's worth knowing those dates draw more people.
