What it’s like
Five-week courses of baby massage or baby yoga in East Leake, for babies from 5 weeks old up to pre-crawling.
This is a five-week course rather than a drop-in class, so you're committing to the same small group of babies and parents each week. Baby massage is on offer from 5 weeks old (they recommend 6 weeks and up, once baby's skin has matured a bit), while baby yoga waits until 12 weeks, when neck strength and muscle control have caught up enough to make the movements safe. Either way, it stops being suitable once your baby is crawling and on the move.
The massage course comes with a proper 50ml bottle of organic, unscented sunflower oil to take home, which is a nice touch given you'll want to keep practising between sessions. Baby yoga skips the oil altogether since there's more movement involved, and instead brings in music and developmental play. There's also story massage, which mixes dry massage with nursery rhymes and traditional tales, and themed yoga specials with sensory play built in, plus the sort of photo opportunity you'll actually want to keep.
Cost depends on what you go for. The five-week massage course is £65, yoga is £58, and if you just fancy dipping a toe in, the themed specials run at £21 on a Saturday or £17 on a weekday. There's no online booking link listed.
One thing to flag: if your baby has been unwell with sickness, a rash or anything similar, they ask you to stay away that week, both to protect your baby and the rest of the group. Same goes for the 48 to 72 hours after immunisations, though you're welcome to come along just for the chat and company if you skip the hands-on bit. Refunds are only guaranteed if you cancel more than 14 working days before the course starts.
