What it’s like

A proper theatre in Hayes with a family panto each December, dementia-friendly film screenings, and a bar you can sit in before the show.

The draw here is a real auditorium rather than a screen in a shopping centre. They put on family shows through the year, including a Summer Youth Project, and Jack and the Beanstalk runs from Wednesday 9 to Thursday 31 December 2026 if you're planning that far ahead. Outside the panto season, the film programme includes dementia-friendly screenings where the house lights stay up so people can see what they're doing, seating is unreserved apart from wheelchair spaces, and the ticket comes with free tea and biscuits afterwards.

Worth knowing before you pick seats: the seating tiered from Row E with two steps between rows, and there's no lift to the upper part of the auditorium. So if you've got a buggy, or anyone who struggles with steps, aim low and ask when you book. Wheelchair users get up to four spaces per performance with companion seating, but those have to be booked in advance and they can't move you into a theatre seat, so it's a phone call to the Box Office rather than a click.

Parking is the faff. The council car park opposite has 200 spaces and you pay through the PayByPhone app, £2 for up to four hours, code 811569, with free Blue Badge bays by the main entrance. There's no ticket machine to feed, which is fine until your phone's on 4%. Buses stop on Uxbridge Road about five minutes' walk away, though Uxbridge tube is 3.5 miles off so it's a bus or a drive rather than a stroll from the station.

Food is bar food rather than a meal: a main bar with draught beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and snacks, a smaller bar with bottled beers, hot drinks and snacks, and an ice cream counter for the interval. One timing catch. The Box Office runs Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm, and phone lines 2pm to 5pm, and both are shut at weekends and bank holidays, so sort anything that needs a human on a weekday afternoon.

Plan your visit

How much is parking?

£2 for up to four hours in the council car park opposite, paid through the PayByPhone app with code 811569. HillingdonFirst cardholders pay £1.80, and Blue Badge bays by the main entrance are free.

Do I need to book in advance?

For standard seats, book whenever suits. Wheelchair spaces and companion seating have to be booked ahead by calling the Box Office, because they're not guaranteed on the day and there are only up to four per performance.

When is the Box Office open?

Monday to Friday, 1pm to 5pm. Phone lines run 2pm to 5pm on weekdays. Both are closed at weekends and bank holidays, so anything complicated needs a weekday afternoon.

Is it step-free?

Entry is by a ramp to the right of the main entrance, leading to automated doors, and the main public areas have level access. The catch is there's no lift to the upper part of the auditorium, so lower seating is the safer bet if steps are a problem.

Which seats avoid the steps?

The rows are tiered from Row E onwards, with two steps between rows. Ask for lower rows when you book if you're bringing a buggy or anyone unsteady on their feet.

Can we bring a wheelchair user?

Yes, up to four wheelchair users per performance with companion seating. You must book in advance, and patrons can't be transferred into theatre seats, so mention it when you call.

What's on for children?

Family shows run through the what's on programme, there's a Summer Youth Project, and the family pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, plays Wednesday 9 to Thursday 31 December 2026.

Are there relaxed or accessible performances?

There are dementia-friendly screenings, where the house lights stay up, seating is unreserved apart from wheelchair spaces, and the ticket includes free tea and biscuits after the film. The programme also lists accessible performances.

What food and drink is there?

A main bar does draught beers, wines, spirits, soft drinks and snacks. There's a smaller bar with bottled beers, soft drinks, hot drinks and snacks, plus an ice cream counter for the interval.

Can I bring an assistance dog?

Assistance dogs are welcome. Call ahead so they can arrange seating that works, and the dog needs to be suitably trained and appropriately insured.

How do we get there without driving?

Buses stop on Uxbridge Road, about a five minute walk away. Uxbridge is the nearest tube station but it's 3.5 miles off, on the Metropolitan and Piccadilly lines, so you'll still need a bus or a taxi from there.
