What it’s like
Sewing workshops and six-week courses in Reading for complete beginners, plus bespoke sessions for hen parties and new mums groups.
This is a sewing class for adults, not a kids' activity, so if you're after something for the children this isn't it. What you actually get is a proper hands-on session, either a one-off evening workshop or a six-week course, with no minimum experience needed. Evening workshops run 7:30pm to 9:30pm, and there are weekday morning classes on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:30am to 11:30am, so there's an option whether you want a night out or a daytime slot while the kids are at school.
Everything bar the fabric is included in the price, which takes away the usual faff of turning up half prepared. If you already own a sewing machine, bringing it along is recommended so you get help getting confident on your own kit rather than someone else's. Booking has to be done in advance and paid for at the time to hold your space, and if you book by email that hold only lasts a week, so don't dawdle once you've got a date in mind.
Beyond the regular classes, there are bespoke private events: hen parties, baby showers, new mums groups and team building sessions all get a mention. Gift vouchers are an option too, though they're only valid for 12 months, so don't let one sit in a drawer.
