Stoke-on-Trent

What it’s like

One-to-one or group lessons in piano, guitar, singing, violin and saxophone or clarinet, with grade exams if you want them.

This is a music school rather than a one-off activity, so think regular lessons rather than a single visit. They teach piano and keyboard, singing, guitar, violin and saxophone or clarinet, either one-to-one or in an interactive group setting, and there's an online option too if getting across Stoke-on-Trent after school is the bigger problem than the music itself.

If you want the formal route, they teach towards ABRSM, Rockschool, Trinity and LCM grades 1 to 8, which matters if your child fancies music GCSE or A-Level down the line and needs the paperwork to show for it. If you'd rather it stayed low pressure, that's fine too, lessons don't have to be building towards an exam.

Opening hours are weekday afternoons and evenings, 4pm to 9pm, plus Saturday mornings through to 4pm, which fits around a school day without needing you to pull anyone out of class. There's indoor seating and parking on site, so you're not stuck waiting in the car for the full lesson.

The website leans heavily on the practical questions, whether your child needs their own instrument, how often to have a lesson, how to opt out of exams, but leaves a lot of that for you to ask in person rather than spelling it out online. Worth having those questions ready when you call, since they're the kind of detail that changes lesson to lesson.
